BREAKING NEWS! FirstMate: Proud Winners of the ACC Workplace and Wellbeing Awared at the 2024 Seafood Stars Awards

Mo for the Crew

Grow a mo. Give something up. Look out for your mates.

This November, the seafood industry is coming together to support men's mental health and wellbeing through Mo for the Crew, a FirstMate and Movember fundraising campaign.

Whether you're working on the water or on shore, there are plenty of ways to get involved. Grow a moustache, give something up or take on a walking or running challenge. Most importantly, use the campaign as an opportunity to check in with your mates and help get conversations about mental health started.

How to get involved

There are three ways to take part in Mo for the Crew this November:

Grow a mo

Get behind Movember by growing a moustache and helping raise awareness of men's health.

Give something up

Challenge yourself to go without something for the month, such as energy drinks on shift, vapes or takeaways.

Walk or run 60 km

Set yourself a goal to walk or run 60 km during November and show your support.

Whether you take on one challenge or combine a few, every contribution helps. Crew, shore staff and industry partners are all encouraged to get involved.

Supporting our mates

Donations raised through Mo for the Crew will be split equally between:

FirstMate supports the health and wellbeing of people working in New Zealand's seafood industry.

Movember supports men's health, including mental health and suicide prevention.

By taking part, you'll help support both the people who make up our seafood industry and the wider effort to improve men's health.

Make a difference this November

Get involved, encourage your workmates to take part, and help spread the word. It's a chance for the seafood industry to come together, support men's health and remind each other to look out for our mates.
